Clicker Training - Dachshund Training works especially well in conjunction with a clicker. Dachshunds don't have great hearing, but they do respond well to sharp, single sounds and clicker training can be done in quick bursts that fit their attention span well.
Reward - Punishing a Dachshund is not very effective due to their strong will. They will grow stubborn and possibly violent with too much punishment. Alternatively, use positive reinforcement to reward good behaviors. Dachshunds love physical attention as well as goodies as rewards for good behavior.
Dachshund training is a trying experience. It takes time, energy and a great deal of determination from you. Most of all don't let your cute little pup get the better of you. The moment you give in to him, you lose the battle and it can be hard to regain that ground as the dog gets older.
